Amy is an Associate Professor at Duquesne University, where she teaches taxation, accounting, and data analytics courses. She knows the importance of technology in business. Her law career began as a Tax Specialist at Coopers & Lybrand, when the firm first adopted in-house tax preparation software. Déjà vu, her career as an academic began with the explosion of data analytics into the accounting profession. Amy has been fortunate to work with some tremendous educators and coauthors to embrace this challenge. Building on her experience teaching accounting and taxation, Amy has developed and teaches ACCT 805: Business Analytics for Decision Making in Duquesne’s Master of Science in Accountancy
program. ACCT 805 is an aggressive course that requires hands-on use of Excel, SAS, Tableau and Alteryx. Amy realizes the extreme value of data visualization and the value of Tableau.
