Who should be in the next class of Tableau Zen Masters?

We are excited to announce that the time has come to select a new cohort of Zen Masters, and to do so we need your help!

In their mastery of our platform, generosity with their time and knowledge, and their willingness to help the community improve—the Tableau Zen Masters stand out in a community filled with excellence.

We are excited to announce that the time has come to select a new cohort of Zen Masters, and to do so we need your help. We are opening nominations from Wednesday, December 12, 2018 through Friday, January 11, 2019. During this period, we invite you to share stories of inspiration and instruction, of exceptional dedication to exploring Tableau and improving it, and of that humble-smart that makes the Tableau community so remarkable. Tell us who you think should be in the 2019 cohort.

Zen Master selections are based on nominations from both the Tableau community and our team members. We want to hear from you!

When submitting a nomination, we encourage you to consider the following questions:

How is this person a teacher? Do they dedicate their time to helping others be better Tableau users? Are they Tableau evangelists who share our mission? Do they add to the Tableau community by offering help to people of all levels?
How are they a Tableau master? Have they shown a deep understanding of how Tableau works? This can apply to all aspects of the Tableau platform. They might create beautiful dashboards on Tableau Public, maintain Tableau Server, write Web Data Connectors, or more.
How do they collaborate? Do they work with others to bring Tableau and its mission to new communities and geographies? Do they contribute useful, popular ideas on our Ideas Forum or provide feedback to our engineers in our beta community?

Please be prepared to share links to information that will help us see and understand your nominee’s work. Blogs are helpful, as are social media posts, Tableau Public profiles and vizzes, event links, and other sources.

If this sounds like someone you know, nominate them to be a Tableau Zen Master. You must complete one submission for each person you want to nominate.

Some details about the process:

Nominations close at 10:00pm PST on Friday, January 11, 2019. All nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee made up of Tableau employees, with input from the Hall of Fame Zen Masters.

We do not select Zen Masters based on the number of nominations received. While we do read and track all nominations, we also use internal metrics, employee nominations, and the needs of our global community to determine the new cohort.
