Customers Learning While We Learn From Customers
Nearly 200 of our best customers are here in Seattle at the Tableau Customer Conference with us enjoying the fine weather and learning about upcoming release, Tableau 4.0. We're at maximum capacity. Here are three interactions I had with customers where I discovered something new about how analytics are proliferating.
Had a chance to talk with Bill Attridge about how his firm, HTM Corporation based in Japan, is using analytics to help their US-based clients focus their Japaniese subsidiaries on business while Bill and team help with accounting, payroll and HR. HTM is relieving the subsidiaries from day-to-day operations while showing the American parents how things are going in Japan.
In speaking with Chuck Hooper of ProRelSys, I learned he was on fire with his own Tableau-based application EIS-FIRE. He's figured out that it's not what you know but how fast you use your knowledge. Can you keep it simple enough to be successful? Or have you succumbed to complexity and thus its twin, failure? Speed in using information is Chuck's mantra.
Finally, Sy Dimitroff at Sun Microsystems told me how she's been able to introduce new views and new ways of seeing information into Sun's workforce management team. She's here to connect with other people like her and see how to leverage information in the HR/workforce area.
Overall, we're getting increrdible insights into what people are doing to solve their information problems. And from what I'm hearing, customers are getting insights from each other and from our Tableau team. Stay tuned as we attempt to capture and codify what we're seeing and hearing.
