About

Will (Huichen) Wang is a first-year PhD student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, where he is fortunate to be advised by Leilani Battle and Jeffrey Heer. His current research centers on understanding the capabilities of foundation models for data visualization. He is also interested in the perceptual and cognitive aspect of visualization, especially trust in visualization. He graduated from Amherst College last year with BAs in computer science, math, and psychology. He is originally from Shanghai, China, and now lives in Seattle. He enjoys cooking, playing ping pong, and watching movies.
