We are Data + Women
The idea behind Data + Women is a simple one. To share stories, make connections, and recognize the amazing women, and the men who elevate them, in the data community.
March is Women’s History Month and we wanted to use this as an opportunity to celebrate all of you – the people who go out of their way to foster a more diverse, inclusive community.
We kicked off the month of March by starting conversations in the Data + Women Community. Topics included using data differently, and careers in data.
We have so many inspiring, smart women in our community, and we love having the opportunity to celebrate with them. On International Women’s Day we asked you to tell us about someone who inspires or motivates you. We loved all of your responses.

On March 16 we kicked off the first Data + Women Virtual Tableau User Group. Hosted by Brit Cava and Chloe Tseng, this event brought together over 700 data lovers, and highlighted a group of stellar women in data (Divya Bharathi, Chantilly Jaggernauth, Brittany Fong, and Jennie Cobb). Each shared three pieces of career advice in a lightning talk format, followed by live Q&A and candid discussion. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the recording, don’t worry, it’s available here.
To say the community rallied behind these ladies would be an understatement.

Series of excellent talks from the women of #DPWVTUG today. Great to hear these superstars' insights in more than 140-character chunks.

It's been an amazing month to see the community come together to celebrate all the remarkable women in the data community. We know that March is coming to a close, but we hope we can continue to elevate this conversation going forward. If you haven’t had a chance to recognize women in the data community that inspire you, or if you want to make them feel extra special, leave a comment below or chime in on the Data + Women Community Forum.
