Ryan has worked as a Solutions Engineer at Tableau over the past 4 years with the most recently focusing on Communications, Media & Entertainment, and High Technology. An avid data enthusiast, he is fascinated with all data use cases throughout his life, from organizing his budget and tracking maintenance on his car to monitoring the health of his plants and documenting runs. While this Olympics Viz Team has been the most high profile project, he is actively supporting his brother in biometrics analytics as this sibling trains to compete in Iron Man triathlon races.

Stefan Kaminski

Sr. Business Analyst, T-Mobile

Stefan is a Senior Business Analyst in Marketing Strategy & Decision Analytics at T-Mobile US, focused on analyzing churn & revenue performance and trying to find new ways to look at an old problem.

A computer scientist from Germany, Stefan literally did rocket science (simulated a satellite docking maneuver), worked in computer linguistics (developed a speech recognition application), and launched a regional internet service.

Stefan has worked at a Big 4 Consulting firm, joined Deutsche Telekom, and moved to the Pacific-Northwest in 2010 where he keeps tinkering with big data and condense tools & approaches into a churn- & revenue-analysis toolkit.

Curt Varney

AVP Communications & Media Sales, Tableau

Curt has been an influential sales leader at Tableau for 8 years, and currently leads the Communications and Media Industry Vertical. He has been in the Business Intelligence/Data Management space for over 24 years, working at companies like Informatica and Cognos (now IBM) in addition to Tableau.

This experience has enabled him to see how some of the biggest and most complex companies in the world leverage data, and Tableau. And now he is very excited to leverage his analytics experience with his further focus on the Communications and Media Industry to drive even more innovative usage of Tableau. Curt is based out of Mercer Island WA (Seattle) where he has a wife and three kids until he finds his winter house in Phoenix.
