Introducing the 2018 Tableau Ambassadors, representing the heart of the Tableau Community
It’s that time of year again (drumroll please)...we are both honored and excited to announce new inductees into the Tableau Ambassador program!
What makes the Tableau community so special? The people! The mission of the Tableau Ambassador program is to recognize members of the community who connect, collaborate, and share with other people because they recognize the value of helping people see and understand their data. Our new inductees do all that and more.
What does it take to become a Tableau Ambassador?
Demonstrate Leadership and Evangelism. All of our ambassadors represent the spirit and voice of the community. They keep us honest and push us to do more. They teach and share, while fostering positive and supportive behavior within the community. They give credit where credit is due and help nurture inclusivity. They shine the spotlight on new voices, innovative ideas, and allow us to reach more people to help them see and understand their data.
The selection process from start to finish
Ambassadors are selected to serve a one-year term in one of four distinct branches: Social Media lead by Marissa Michelotti, Tableau User Groups lead by Jordan Scott, the Community Forums lead by Patrick A Van Der Hyde, and Tableau Public lead by Jonni Walker.
You may have read back in January that we moved the selection process from a bi-annual cycle to once a year in order to better align our team and work with other things happening at Tableau—and to give enough time to better support the group. We also opened up public nominations for the first time and were blown away by the response. We received 564 nominations from all corners of the world. Thank YOU for all your feedback and support. We took all this into consideration and made the tough selection of 16 new and returning names who we are so honored to welcome into the program.
Without further ado, please join us in welcoming our new Tableau Ambassadors!
We encourage you to learn more about all the ambassadors on our website and follow them on Twitter.
