Ensuring health and safety for our community
Update—March 18, 2020:
In close coordination with Salesforce, to further prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are now seeing local governments escalate guidance within their communities. In order to stay compliant with local authorities, and do our civic duty to help flatten the curve, we have issued a “hard close” for our offices in North America and Europe. Outside of these hard office closures, 100% of our global office employee population is still under a “strongly encouraged to WFH” recommendation and our Tableau offices in China are also hard closed.
Additionally, with the rapid spread of the COVID-19 respiratory illness around the world, data and facts are essential for public understanding and an organized response. To do our part, Tableau has launched a free resource page that includes relevant data visualizations about the spread of COVID-19 and the public health response. We have also added curated data sources and a quick start Tableau dashboard to enable you to explore the data. To learn more, please visit our COVID-19 Data Resource Hub directly.

Update—March 4, 2020:
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, we have a heightened awareness at Tableau of our responsibility to our employees, customers, and partners. This includes doing our part to help prevent further outbreaks.
Out of an abundance of caution, and aligned with King County recommendations, we are encouraging all Tableau employees based in our Seattle, Kirkland, and Bellevue offices to work remotely for the month of March.

Original post—March 3, 2020:
At Tableau, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our customers, partners, and employees. Over the past few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the evolving situation with the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure we are taking every precaution to look after our community and everyone in the Tableau #DataFam.
In close coordination with Salesforce, we are implementing additional safety precautions and travel guidelines this month to help minimize any added risk to partners, customers, and employees. In addition to halting international business travel, we are restricting domestic travel for our employees to only business-critical customer needs, and are limiting in-person participation at large-scale events. As we continue monitoring this evolving situation globally, we are crafting new ways to bring the Tableau spirit to life in an environment that puts the wellbeing of our customers and employees first.
We are working closely with the team at Salesforce to ensure that we are collectively taking a proactive, thoughtful approach that we will continue to refine as needed based on the guidance of local and global health agencies like the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.
We will continue sharing updates as any changes unfold - thank you for your support as part of the global Tableau community.
