Tableau Prep Builder
Tableau Prep Builder is a tool designed to make preparing your data easy and intuitive. Use this Prep Builder to combine, shape, and clean your data for analysis in Tableau Desktop, or any other version of Tableau. Get your free license of Tableau Prep Builder here.
Tableau Cloud
Tableau Cloud is a cloud-based workspace where you can prepare your data, author, analyze, collaborate, publish, and share within the online experience. This is a great choice for collaboration on projects. This license is only available through the Tableau for Teaching program available to your instructor. Refer them to the Tableau for Teaching homepage to request a license for your class.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
In order to verify your student license, you will need to submit eligible documentation. For the documentation to be eligible, it must include your first and last name, the name of your school, and the full date of validity or an expiration date. Some common examples include a school ID or a current transcript (unofficial accepted).
If you’re receiving the error “the product key is invalid” it may be because the current version you have installed is an older version of Tableau. Please check out our Knowledge Base Page for additional support on how to resolve your issue. If these steps don’t work, please feel free to submit a support case here. Enter “installation” or other keywords into the search bar to help find your answer. If you cannot find correct documentation, feel free to submit a support case on the “continue to create case” button and a member of our Technical Support team will be with you shortly.

Absolutely! No additional documentation is required.
We are currently offering a 20% discount on the Tableau Desktop Specialist Exam to verified students. We do not offer discounts on the other exams at this time. Please go to the certification site for more information. Reach out to tft@tableau.com for additional information on how to request your discount. In the case of a discount error, please wait to purchase until Academic Programs has resolved the error, as retroactive discounts and refunds are not possible.
Yes! To extend or renew your Tableau student license, simply re-submit the Tableau for Students form to verify you’re continued eligibility.
