Tableau Conference ‘Call for Participation’: Tips for Submitting Your Session Proposal
3 tips to submitting a compelling Tableau Conference session proposal.
What makes the Tableau Conference so special—the DataFam, of course! The annual gathering is the place to learn and be inspired on your data journey—and an opportunity to share your insights, stories and give back to others, helping empower everyone to do more with data.
The Tableau Conference 2024 “Call for Participation," also called the CFP, invites the DataFam of our community, customers, partners and data enthusiasts to present full sessions at TC24, including 40-minute breakout sessions and 20-minute theater sessions. The CFP for TC24 in-person sessions is now open, and closes on February 12, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. PT. If your session is selected, and all parties accept to present and speak in-person at TC24, confirmed speakers will receive a complimentary pass to Tableau Conference 2024 in San Diego.
Sharing a session proposal is a great way to participate at the conference. If you’re considering submitting to the CFP, here are three tips to help make a compelling proposal:
1. Share your expertise
Tell us about a project you are passionately working on that is making a difference, solving a business problem, helping your team, your coworkers, your partners and your customers. We’re especially looking for submissions that focus on the TC24 content themes:
Reimagine analytics for everyone
Show your creative ways to bring analytics and insights to the data analysts, data consumers and the data curious.
Get more insights faster with AI and data
Data is growing faster than ever with demands also evolving faster than ever. Go from data to insights at the speed of change with tips and tricks to spend more time analyzing and less time building.
Scale data with flexibility and trust
A data foundation sets the tone for the rest of your deployment. Build a trusted data strategy that allows you to harmonize any data easily, manage security and governance all while staying flexible and compliant for evolving business needs.
2. Show your data chops
Data, data, data! Tell your stories of business impact, share your success metrics, and “wow” with your use. Show your data-driven journey with metrics that matter. Take the audience beyond the dashboard by sharing the impact of your insights, highlighting measurable success stories, and demonstrating the real-world implications of your data analysis.
3. Be specific and actionable
Start your title with a verb and make it actionable and interesting for the attendee. Use the title case and remain within the 60-character count. For example, “Grab Your Stakeholders’ Attention: Create Impactful Vizzes”. Abstract Tips: Be specific and mention the product, audience, or industry. Use sentence cases and remain within the 200-character count. For example, “Are your Tableau dashboards falling short? Join us for this advanced session and learn how to go the distance with parameters, leaving your interactivity woes in the rearview mirror.”
A note about Community Project Sessions
Community Project Sessions such as Makeover Monday and Sports Viz Sunday are not included in the CFP process. The Tableau Community team will reach out to all community project leaders to gauge interest and determine how many of these sessions will take place at TC24.
