Apply to join the next class of our Community Equity Task Force
2021 has been a big year for all of us, and we’ve seen our community grow tenfold. While our community grows, we want to ensure our efforts toward representation grow alongside it. We’ll be adding 6-8 new members of the Tableau Community Equity Task Force who will work closely with our existing members as well as myself and other Tableau staff to strengthen diversity in all of the work the Community team is doing.
Our motto is together we are extraordinary, and it is our differences elevated in every connection that create that magic. It is essential that we create an environment where everyone feels welcome, and where our differences are recognized and celebrated. The Community team is committed to elevating and addressing equality throughout the Community and all our programs.
A little bit about me - I’m Tableau’s new Marketing Manager of Community Content and Events. I’ll be working closely with the CETF as both part of my role and because of my own personal passions. As a queer, neurodivergent person with disabilities, representation has always been very important in everything I do. I’m looking forward to learning from and growing with our incredible community.
Who are we?
An action-oriented group of diverse voices focused on the Tableau Community's fight for equality, inclusion, and equity.
What is our vision?
We strive to help promote an inclusive and approachable community for all data users, no matter their race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, religion, age, or neurodiversity. We aim to foster a community where we keep equal representation at the center of all our conversations within Tableau’s Community programs.
What are some of our 2022 goals?
This group will continue to focus on the mission and values that we set forth when the program was started, and the new and existing classes of CETF members will take on a significant role in our Data + Diversity content in 2022, including blog posts, visualizations, events, and more.
- Make Tableau Community content more accessible based on languages and other formats
- Removing barriers to entry into the Tableau Community to help everyone feel welcome
- Increase regional representation in the nominations of our Community Leader programs
This group will also host quarterly town hall meetings to have discussions around difficult topics and issues regarding race, equity, and inclusion in the data community.
Who do we want to apply?
We are looking for Tableau Community members from all backgrounds. We seek to represent the underrepresented and hope that all Tableau Community members, no matter their skill set or background, will be encouraged to apply.
