DataDev Day October 2024

Lo sentimos. Este evento ha finalizado.

Whether you're a seasoned developer on the Tableau developer platform or a recent member, there's something for everyone at this October DataDev Day. You'll have the opportunity to attend sessions to get inspired by what others have built, level-up your skills with technical deep dives, and learn more about what it takes to deploy within an enterprise.

Agenda
8:00-8:30am: Keynote - Kevin Glover, Tableau Product Team and Tristan Handy, CEO and Founder at dbt Labs

8:30-8:50am: Tableau + Python: They go way back: If your skill set includes both (basic) Python and Tableau, there is a very good chance you’ve seen both in action   together. You could be an analyst who has connected Tableau and Python (TabPy) to enrich their analysis. Or you could be a DataDev who has leveraged Python libraries such as Tableau Server Client for the REST API to build an integration or automation for Tableau. In this session, we’ll go through all the possible ways Tableau and Python can work together.

8:50-9:30am: Bring Your Own Semantic Layer: Tableau has rich and flexible semantics for customers to answer sophisticated analytic questions. With the recent release of Multi-fact Relationship (MFR, aka "Shared dimensions"), we are building on the Tableau data foundation to delegate semantics to other semantic layers. We will discuss the concept of aggregate awareness and how Tableau semantic stack will federate semantics similar to what Tableau has pioneered in our federation of connectors to different databases. Tableau continues to be the "Switzerland" of data, be they as unaggregated in relational tables or as aggregated metrics, and they can be combined and used to answer analytic questions.

9:30-10:10am: Tableau DataDev for AI Agents: Learn how Tableau can be a crucial resource for AI use cases that involve Agents with frameworks like LangChain and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with tools like LlamaIndex combined with the power of DataDev resources like Embedding API, REST API, Metadata API, and HeadlessBI.

10:20-11:00am: Leveraging the VizQL API for Enhanced Automation: This topic will explore how the new VizQL Data Service API can streamline automation processes within Tableau. Attendees will learn how to utilize the API to automate data queries and visualizations, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention. The session will include practical examples demonstrating how developers can get started and implement this API.

11:00-11:20am: Accelerating Tableau Cloud Migrations: Innovations in the Migration SDK and Migration App: Join us for an in-depth look at the latest updates to Tableau’s open-source Migration SDK, designed to streamline migrations from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud. Additionally, we’ll introduce the new Migration Open-Sourced App, built on top of the Migration SDK, which empowers customers to migrate seamlessly—without needing a development team. Discover how these tools simplify migration efforts and get a sneak peek into future enhancements.

11:20-12:00am: Explore in Tableau: Bring your data into Tableau with the click of a button
