How to get access to Tableau
Whether you’re looking to learn Tableau on your own or bringing Tableau into your classroom, Tableau Academic programs have specialized offerings depending on your analytics journey. Follow this step-by-step training on Trailhead on how to sign up and get started with Tableau for Teaching.
- Learn Tableau
- Individual license: Receive a one-year access to Tableau Desktop and Prep Builder for teaching and/or noncommercial academic research that can be installed on up to 2 machines.
- Teach Tableau
- Student Course License: Instructors can request bulk software licenses to provide Tableau Desktop and Prep Builder for your classroom. This allows students access to Tableau on their personal computers for the duration of course that you indicate on the request form.
- Tableau Cloud: Tableau Cloud is a platform for students to share and collaborate. Sites are issued for 1 year and allow for 100 users at once. A single Tableau Cloud site can be used to manage multiple courses.
- Lab Licenses: Lab licenses are used to provide Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder at university computer labs. Lab licenses are issued for a one-year duration and can be requested by instructors or IT Administrators.
