Who are the Tableau Forums Ambassadors?
Tableau Ambassadors teach and share while fostering a positive and supportive space within the data community. They give credit where credit is due, and prioritize inclusivity in everything they do. They shine a spotlight on new voices, innovative ideas, and make the communities around them better. Tableau Ambassadors serve one-year terms in one of seven branches: Forums, User Groups, Student, DataDev, Public, Social, and CRM Analytics.
What do Tableau Forums Ambassadors do?
The Forum Ambassadors are the stewards of the Tableau Forums. They generously commit their time and energy to answering questions from fellow Tableau users in the Forums.
Collectively, they account for over seventy percent of the Best Answers. When an answer is selected as a Best Answer, a checkmark appears next to it so that other users with the same query can quickly spot it. They moderate content and ensure that the incoming posts adhere to the Tableau Community’s Code of Conduct.
Ambassadors accrue reputation points in the Forums by writing posts, sharing content, and solutions being marked as Best—they are often the top-ranked users in the Forums Leaderboard. The Forums Ambassadors participate in regular events, such as bi-monthly Expert Sessions where they take a ‘hackathon’ approach to brainstorming the Unanswered Questions.
Forums Badge awarded for participating in Expert Sessions.

Laura Peterson, BI Enablement Director at JLL, New York
“I love being a Tableau Forums Ambassador because it combines two of my passions— connecting with people and learning new things. I get to interact with and help different members of the DataFam on a daily basis. I continue to learn from others via reading all of the responses from my fellow Forums Ambassadors”
Laura Peterson is BI Enablement Director for the Americas region at JLL, a Certified Tableau Desktop Professional, content creator, and coach with 6 years of experience in Data Analytics. She got her start with Tableau back in 2017 as a member of the fifth cohort of The Information Lab’s Data School in London and, since then, has continued learning new techniques and developing her visualization skills by participating in community-led projects. She is passionate about helping others and loves spending time on the Tableau Community Forum answering questions and learning from the rest of the DataFam.
Ayinde Hammed, Business Intelligence Developer, Nigeria
“Being a Forums Ambassador gives me the privilege to moderate the Forums and help users to solve questions. It allows me to meet people with more experience in the field; therefore increasing my knowledge.”
Ayinde picked up Tableau in 2020 and loved it immediately. The ease of use and ever-evolving Community make it a go-to tool. Tableau built Ayinde’s data literacy skills, which is now his livelihood. Ayinde officially joined the Tableau Community Forums after a year’s exposure to Tableau Helping users solve their data problems using Tableau is always a source of joy and serves as a solid learning experience.
Johan de Groot, Visualization and Analytics Consultant at Antichaos, The Netherlands
“Being recognized as an Ambassador within the Tableau Community is a great honor to me. On the one hand it’s about helping people, but maybe even more it’s about motivating others to help each other. Being an Ambassador has given me the opportunity to meet even more amazing people within our Community, being inspired by them and hopefully being able to inspire and help others within the DataFam.”
Johan is a visualization and analytics consultant. Since he discovered Tableau in 2006 he has been using it to forge elaborate visualizations, extensive dashboards, and do thorough data preparation. In addition to creating professional dashboards and supporting companies that use Tableau, Johan also teaches people how to use Tableau, be creative with their data, and present and analyze that data comprehensively. He blogs, is one of the hosts of the Dutch Tableau User Group, and can often be found on the Tableau Forums helping members of the community with all things Tableau.
